The Icelandic Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers 2014 aims to utilise the enormous potential in building on bioeconomy in the Nordic Region. NordBio is a program uniting a broad spectrum of sectors in this effort.
NordBio is a three year program initiated under the Icelandic chairmanship of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2014. It is an umbrella uniting a number of different projects and sectors, all with the aim of improving the way we use our resources and minimize our generation of waste.
NordBio has five sub-projects which are under the Bioeconomy umbrella:
1. Biophilia: Creativity as an educational and scientific tool.
2. Ermond: Natural disasters - Nature´s solutions
3. Innovation in the Nordic bioeconomy: Product development, sustainable food production and biomass.
4. Marina: Emission reduction and increased use of alternative fuels in marine applications
5. WoodBio: Wood biomass in the Nordic Bioeconomy
