Swedish companies launch project to decarbonise steelmaking

Swedish steelmaker SSAB, mining company LKAB and utility company Vattenfall have joined to develop technology to decarbonise SSAB's operations using hydrogen in place of coal or natural gas in its productin process. This would help Sweden meet its goal for the long term of net zero emissions by 2045 but also create a technology that can be used worldwide, in place of carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology.
